Jamie’s Farm supports disadvantaged young people who are at high risk of exclusion from school through a therapeutic programme centred around farming, family, and therapy. Young people thrive through hands-on involvement with the running of a working livestock farm.
We have an ongoing relationship with Jamie’s Farm and recent major grants covered the salary and on-costs of a Therapy Coordinator at their Lewes site for two years and will contribute to the refurbishment of a new site at Lower Shockerwick farm near Bath.
In addition to this funding, several teams from SJP have volunteered their time at one of the farms.
Danielle said:
“We took part in a wide range of activities involving livestock, gardening and general maintenance and upkeep of the farm.
It was an opportunity to bring us together as a team, but it was a lot more than that. It brought back the importance and magic of the SJP Charitable Foundation and what our contributions achieve. The Farm and their vision is fantastic, the team were wonderful and the difference they are making to young people’s lives daily is incredible”.
Watch to hear from the young people themselves about the impact Jamie’s Farm has had on their lives:
