Generation: You Employed supports young people facing multiple barriers to work by providing free, profession-specific training alongside mentoring, pastoral support and direct pathways into employment.
Their programme focuses on in-demand sectors such as digital, healthcare, and green industries, helping to bridge the gap between unemployed young people and employers struggling to fill key roles.
Multi-year funding has enabled Generation to expand its reach across Scotland, particularly in areas of high deprivation. As a result, their high-quality training programmes have grown while retaining important personalised support for each learner.
The impact has been significant. In 2025, 121 young people were supported. All participants completed the programme and 70% have already secured jobs, earning an average salary of around £25,000 - three times their previous income in many cases. Beyond employment, all learners reported increased confidence in their future.
The funding has helped Generation to deliver life-changing opportunities, enabling young people to gain skills, confidence, and access to meaningful employment, while building a scalable model for long-term impact.
