Trekstock Cancer Support is the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting people in their 20s, 30s and 40s living with and beyond cancer. Cancer does not end when treatment finishes.
Through tailored exercise and mental wellbeing programmes, Trekstock helps individuals rebuild strength, confidence and routine at every stage of their journey - including after their treatment.
In 2024, a multi-year grant was awarded to expand the reach in Newcastle, where provision for such support is limited and demand is high. Two years on, this funding has provided stability and confidence to embed services locally.
The grant has directly supported delivery of the RENEW programme which is helping participants safely return to physical activity while improving emotional wellbeing, body confidence and sense of control. Feedback has shown strong outcomes as the participants found the instructors very supportive and felt the activities were just right for them.
